Sunfamily is a family owned holding company which invests in multiple asset classes with a focus on technology and energy.
Our advisory activities have catered to the interests of a variety of investors and Sunfamily has acted as the arranger in fund raising and structuring activities, building equity positions, fully aligning with the interests of its partners
Our history
From 2007, the founder of the company has developed and sourced opportunities in the energy and technology industries, building experience and knowledge.
Sunfamily serves some of the leading global funds in Europe in their efforts to select the most favorable investment circumstances in their target markets.
Track Record - Solar Energy
- From 2007 participated in the setting up of a PV module production factory in China with a subsidiary in Madrid
- Co-Managed the start up of the subsidiary of a Swiss solar energy company in Italy helping to build its Milan based subsidiary into a 100 million Euro turnover business.
- Served multinational brands (both Chinese and European) in establishing their footprint in Italy
- Brokered over 1500 hectares of land deals for renewable energy projects (outright sales and surface rights)
- Brokered over 2 GWp of PV pipeline sales for third parties and in connection to projects co-developed by Sunfamily with European leading service providers
Track Record - Tecnology
- Co-Founded the Italian leading software developer in the blockchain space (rated n.7 globally by Gartner) - raised seed investment round.
- Co founded a crypto mining venture and secured all funding. Exit provided 4x returns for investors.
- Seed funded and raised round A series for a leading fintech aimed at international remittances for diasporas. The venture is presently expanding into multiple jurisdictions.
- Co-Founded a company promoting innovative technologies for CO2 capture and reuse.
- Co-Founded the first blockchain based tracking platform for CO2 in order to ascertain its origin ("green CO2").
- Seeded an AI company focused on financial modeling and assisted it in series A fund raising and business development.
- Raised round A series for a cosmetics venture sold for 1 billion dollars in 2025 generating a 3x return for investors
Giacomo started his career in the legal services industry as a Corporate Attorney in the City of London. He then obtained an LLM in Banking & Finance Law at Boston University. His career brought him to NYC where he passed the NYC Bar Exam in June 2004. He then moved to a Shanghai Law Firm working at the M&A desk.
In 2008, while still in China, he focused on the nascent renewable energy industry, at first as an attorney, then deciding to become an entrepreneur.
Since 2008 he has worked on identifying viable paths enabling the achievement of environmentally sustainable goals, leveraging on digital and technology driven strategies, fostering efficiency and acceleration of energy transition.
In his ambition to carry his values into his business life, Giacomo has always aimed at identifying economically viable investments in sustainable ventures. This has always been, and will continue to be, the distinctive mission of Sunfamily.
